Web services are a pivotal component of the Moblin user experience. As part of the work that Intel are doing to integrate these service we have developed two technologies: Mojito and libREST.

libREST is a library that is designed to make accessing RESTful web services as easy as possible. In this talk I will discuss what we mean by a web service that is RESTful and how libREST is designed to make programmers happy.

Want to know what your friends have been up to on Twitter, last.fm, Flickr? All from your desktop / mobile device! Then Mojito is our solution; it aggregates social feeds from a variety of sources and provides a single access point for application level developers.

As well as being an integral part of the Moblin user experience we believe that web services should be a key development for GNOME 3.0. And so I will outline how we are using these technologies in Moblin and some ideas for using them within GNOME.
