We will also give an overview about Assistive Technologies and how they are used on GNOME Desktop Environment.

Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) is a large field of research and development, and is also a field that needs a lot of help to grow up.

The talk will give an overview about Speech Technologies and how it can be used on GNOME Desktop Environment. During the talk will give a brief demonstration of Speech Recognition Software.

The Accessibility of Computer Software has greatly increased over the past two decades, but we still need lots of work on it. The Accessibility on the Open-Source world is still in the beginning.

The talk will give an overview about Speech Recognition used for Accessibility. Speech Recognition as an Assistive Technology helps a lot the support for disabled people take advantage of software which would be very difficult without this feature.

Interface Control by voice and Dictation are very interesting features which would help a lot people with disabilities.

We'll show what we expect on the future of Speech Recognition as a Tool of Accessibility. We will also show what can be done on GNOME platform to help the development of Speech Technologies used to increase the Accessibility, and thus making GNOME accessible to as many people as possible.
