GStreamer is a cross platform multimedia framework. It has established itself as the de-facto standard on Linux and Unix platforms. This talk will give a general introduction to how to develop GStreamer applications, be that using GTK+, Qt or another toolkit.
The talk will also highlight some of the more recent additions to the GStreamer framework, so the talk will also help people already familiar with GStreamer keep up to date on the latest developments.

Wim Taymans has been involved in software development for a long time, with his earliest efforts being on the Commodore 64 and Amiga platforms. Wim Taymans co-founded the GStreamer project in 1999 and is today the projects lead designer and maintainer. Wim Taymans works for Collabora Multimedia.
